Ians first bday party!
We had a busy weekend of parties! First Blake's then Sunday we had Ians first bday! It was a lot of fun with the Prince Ian theme. Pictured above are some good shots I got. The kiddos got to play outside and were treated to a pinata as well as cake, and gift bags. Ian got lots of good stuff so it was a good day. We also got some yummy food. Thanks to the Washingtons for including us in their special day!

HIS CUPCAKE BIRTHDAY CAKE!
OPENING PRESENTS.
We did Blake's 3rd bday party on October 17th. A friend of mine was cool enough to let me use the community center she had rented for a meeting. That way the party would be there instead of my house. Everyone came and ate, Then we did painting of canvas'. Each kid got to paint there own canvas and take them home. Then while we were cleaning up some adults took them outside to run around. After we got the paint cleaned up we did cake and presents. It was a lot of fun. Blake got tons of stuff and was so excited about everything. He told everyone "THANKS GUYS!" when we were done opening presents. Anyway here are a few pics. I will post more later.
Thanks everyone who helped out. It means a lot!

Blake's 3rd Birthday Party
Today my baby turned 3 years old! Where in the world did the time go? Seems like YESTERDAY we were bringing him home from the hospital. Now I have this big boy who loves cars, trucks. tools, volcanos and bugs. Everyday is a new adventure with him. He has taught me so much about myself. I love watching him as he learns something he didn't know or discovers something new. In the pictures above are just a few I took today. The first one is of him blowing out the candles. The 2nd is of him eating his clown cupcakes and 3rd is him sporting his new lightning mcqueen boots. He already had the hat. Anyway we had a fun day. Hung out with some good friends and celebrated with cupcakes and a few presents. He played with friends and then we came home and I put in his new Blues Clues Preschool game for the computer. His party is Saturday so I will post another blog then.
Happy 3rd Birthday Blake Emmett!!

playdate at Schofield
Aloha! About once every two weeks we get together for a playdate at Schofield Barracks. The big army base here on Oahu. Several Coast Guard wives get together and talk and let the kiddos run amok in the play area. It is a fun time and it also gives us an excuse to eat bad foods hahaha. In the October 8th playdate I brought my friend Lynn and her little boy Ian. Ian and Blake's birthday are one day apart. Blake's is October 12 and Ians is October 13th. Ian is just a doll! Lynns husband is in the Navy and was currently away from home at this playdate. Its nice to have friends that keep you busy when the hubby is gone.

decorating for halloween
Halloween is upon us! I have started decorating the home for the crazy trick or treaters I'm sure we'll get in housing. I'm not that good at it. Eric is the decorating guru of our family. He generally does the lights and everything. I sit back and dictate and let him do what he does best. However this year since he is deployed I armed myself with my hammer and a nice sturdy stool and got to work. I have since added cobwebs and some window clings but they aren't pictured. Anyway it was fun and hopefully for next halloween we can be in new housing. At least the house is old and ugly so it looks like an old haunted house LOL just kidding :).

USCGC Jarvis lei making
Aloha! Its that time again. The time till the Jarvis makes its way home will be here before we know it. A group of wives have come together to start the lei making process. We are just starting out and it takes a long time to complete. We are looking at at least another meeting possibly 2 more. We had a lot of fun though. As a group we get together and plan fun events to keep ourselves busy when the guys are gone. In the first picture you see Blake Lange and Olivia Jenkins. Blake is my son and Oliva is Tobie Jenkins daughter. Her husband is on the Jarvis as well. They were pretty inseperable that night and even tried to kiss a few times. It was very cute! Anyway we had a lot of fun and are looking forward to our pumpkin painting meeting on October 24th.

Blakes art
Arts and Crafts
Aloha! Today I had a dentist appt to fix a chipped tooth. A good friend of mine Lynn watched Blake so I could go take care of it. While he was hanging with her they did some arts and crafts. She drew an apple and let him glue squares to it. He had a blast! He also got to make an imprint of his hand and paint some. My kid is a serious fingerpainter. He loves doing it and requests to do it quite often. I actually have a stockpile of paints and he has to have a squirt of each color. Even white! Anyway I can't believe how big he is getting. After this project we decided to start getting together at lease once a week and letting our kids do art projects together. I hope we can get it together and work it out. I think it will be awesome and I know Blake will enjoy it! Anyway that is about all for now. Will talk you all soon!

lipstick face pictures/bowling
Here are some of Blake with his lipstick face and a bowling shot. Having a hard time getting the video to load. I hope it gets fixed soon.
Bowling with Blake
Today I bought Blake a CARS bowling set. It was only $10 but he really wanted it and I figure it was only $10 so why not. We got home and I set it up for him and played for probably 30 mins before he walked away. Hey there is always tomorrow :) Anyway we had a lot of fun. He has a cold so today we were just trying to keep him happy and comfy. He did get into some lipstick that stays on so he is sporting lipstick face for a couple of days. Hope all is well.
Much Aloha,

Blake's Rockin New Do..
Took Blake to get his haircut today. The lady asked me how I wanted it. And I was like SHORT!! His hair grows SOOO FAST!! She was like ok I'll use the clippers on the sides and back do you want a spike?? I'm like heck yeah! He's never had a spike before. So my baby is growing up getting his first spike hair cut. I think he looks stinkin handsome. I just want to hug him and squeeze him. Oh what the heck I'm going to :). He did ok. But he really wanted to play with the trains and wanted to be in the airplane instead. He told me he wanted the taxi but I wasn't about to let him change because she had already started cutting his hair and there is no point in having to clean up both chairs. He was real squirmy this time around. If Eric would have been here he probably would have stayed still. Oh well. He got pretty upset with me when we left because he wasn't done playing. But he got over it pretty quick. Still gotta work on the sharing thing but I know it takes time. I just hope everyone else remembers he is still only 2 and it is a practice thing. He isn't going to learn overnight. Well thats about all. Talk to you all soon!
Much Aloha,
Amber and Blake
